I find the motel extremely well appointed, clean and luxurious---a feeling of "home from home". I have stayed in just about every unit of theirs and they are all lovely.
There are outstanding views both inland and towards the ocean, with easy accessibility to the beach, shops and restaurants.
The hosts, Ken and Rae, are very friendly and obliging and nothing is too much trouble.

The Boatshed apartments in Mt. Maunganui is a perfect lodging for large groups or individual travelers. I have accompanied special study tours to New Zealand with a stopover at the Boatshed apartments for a weekend. Students every year not only enjoy this group homestay at the Boatshed apartments but the opportunity to experience wonderful New Zealand hospitality with the Whittle family. Each self contained apartment is spacious and clean. Guests have access to the nearby lovely beach area or can hike around Mt. Maunganui.

My wife an i stayed in the Boatshed Motel Apartments fo 9 days in October. We booked the penthouse apartment and found that the place was very clean, very light, with views all around and very well equipped and presented. Haveing stayed at motel and apartment hotels in many places around the world, we can say without at doubt this is one of the best so far and highly recommended accommodation. Harry Spriggs, England |
